Can you imagine if the World Wide Web was called something else? It’s almost inconceivable. But the name didn’t just emerge, it was all part of Tim’s design. Like this article, I highly recommend Weaving The Web, which is readable even if you are not a tech person.
Once of my favorite anecdotes from the book is hard to believe: In the 1980s, Tim attended a Hypertext conference and failed to persuade everyone that hypertext should be combined with The Internet. Keep in mind that the Internet itself existed long before the web.
